Highly respected community leader and coalition builder will strengthen the Foundation’s role as a strategic funder and partner in pursuit of health equity.
CLEVELAND, OH
The Saint Luke’s Foundation today announced the appointment of Timothy L. Tramble Sr. as its new President and CEO. Tramble will assume his new role on June 1, 2020.
Widely respected for his mission-driven leadership in empowering citizens of Cleveland and Cuyahoga County who have been most impacted by racial and economic inequity, Tramble joins the Saint Luke’s Foundation after serving 20 years as Executive Director of Burton Bell Carr Development, Inc. (BBC). During his tenure, Tramble substantially grew BBC’s financial capacity while successfully building a coalition of allies and partners to support community revitalization initiatives, projects, and programs for positive transformation without displacement or gentrification.
“Tramble’s energy and passion for finding innovative solutions for neighborhoods and communities is an inspiration. We are thrilled to have him join us as the new President and CEO of the Saint Luke’s Foundation,” said Colleen Cotter, Saint Luke’s Foundation Board Chair and Executive Director of The Legal Aid Society of Cleveland.
The choice of Tramble as Saint Luke’s Foundation new President and CEO was the result of a search process that included input from partners, grantees, and the community.
“We listened closely to representatives from the Saint Luke’s neighborhoods and across Cuyahoga County. We heard what qualities were most important in the Foundation’s next President and CEO,” said Tania Menesse, Board Vice-Chair of Saint Luke’s Foundation and Director of Community Development for the City of Cleveland, who chaired the search committee. “After thoughtful and careful consideration, we are confident that Tramble is the ideal choice to lead the Saint Luke’s Foundation into the future.”
Under Tramble’s leadership, the Saint Luke’s Foundation will sharpen its focus to ensure that the vision and mission guide the strategic work of the Foundation in advancing the pursuit of health equity in the neighborhoods surrounding Saint Luke’s and throughout Cuyahoga County.
“I am honored to be selected by a board of such distinguished community servants to take over the helm of the Saint Luke’s Foundation,” said Tramble. “The opportunity to lead the Saint Luke’s Foundation is one I have prepared for my entire life. I grew up in a low-income neighborhood of Cleveland and spent my entire career supporting the overall health of our communities. My pledge, to the board, staff, and broader community, is to serve with a listening ear and a humble heart in steadfast support of work that successfully mitigates social and economic disparities impacting health outcomes in our communities.”
The Foundation’s former CEO, Anne Goodman, announced her departure in September of 2019 and remained in her role until April 3. She continues to serve as a consultant to Saint Luke’s to ensure a smooth transition for the new CEO.
