The Saint Luke’s Awards $3,051,300 at its Q4 2025 Board Meeting

Cleveland, OH – December 10, 2025 – The Board of Trustees of the Saint Luke’s Foundation has approved grants totaling $3,051,300 for twenty-five organizations during its third-quarter board meeting. These investments advance the Foundation’s mission to achieve health equity by addressing social determinants of health, including:

  • Educational attainment
  • Financial stability
  • Healthy eating and active living
  • Safe and affordable housing
  • Social connections
  • Strengthening neighborhoods surrounding the former Saint Luke’s Hospital

This quarter’s board grants highlight the resilience and leadership of community organizations working every day to close the health gap in our neighborhoods,” said Tim Tramble, President & CEO of Saint Luke’s Foundation. “From youth development and maternal health to housing stability, civic engagement, and workforce opportunity, these strategy partners are addressing the social determinants of health in ways that uplift entire communities. Our mission has always been to improve health outcomes by addressing these conditions head-on, and our nonpartisan policy and advocacy efforts are grounded in fairness and ensuring the systems shaping people’s lives work for everyday residents. Highlights of the Fourth Quarter Board Grants Awarded to Close the Health Gap:

Boys and Girls Club of Northeast Ohio – $80,000 for 1 year

This grant will be used for general operating support to sustain safe, high-quality programming for youth in Saint Luke’s Foundation’s target neighborhoods. Funding will support academic, social-emotional, and leadership development activities at both the Saint Luke’s Manor and John Adams Clubs.

City Club of Cleveland  – $60,000 for 1 year

The grant will support the City Club’s forum series on health equity and its connections to social determinants of health, with plans to convene up to six forums, livestream them, and reach over 1,000 participants through in-person and virtual access. 

Cuyahoga Metropolitan Housing Authority– $200,000 for 1 year

This grant will be used for CMHA-Woodhill Housing Stabilization, Digital Inclusion and CMHAPD, and PAR Programs. These programs will support resident housing stabilization during the Woodhill relocation process, strengthen peer-to-peer engagement, and expand digital access and literacy. It will also help enhance CMHA’s Police-Assisted Referral program to better address trauma and connect residents with needed services.

New Era Cleveland – $202,140 for 1 year and $10,000 for capacity building

This grant will be used for New Era Cleveland’s trauma-informed crisis response work, community safety programming, and expansion of Safe Zones within Saint Luke’s footprint. It will also support youth and family activities, engagement events, and the continued operation of their community clubhouse.

Pregnant with Possibilities Resource Center – $50,000 for 1 year

This grant will provide general operating support to expand outreach, provide transitional housing and rental support, and continue delivering culturally competent prenatal and postpartum services. It will also help sustain behavioral health programming for mothers before and after birth.

Northern Ohioans for Budget Legislation Equality (United Labor Agency, Inc. as fiscal sponsor) – $100,000 for 2 years

This grant will provide general operating support for community engagement and nonpartisan advocacy efforts by training residents, coordinating testimony, and advancing policy priorities in the state’s biennium budget.

Birthing Beautiful Communities – $100,000 for 1 years

This grant will provide general operating support for Birthing Beautiful Communities’ comprehensive perinatal and postpartum services, including doula care, mental health support, parenting education, and crisis intervention.

Concerned Citizens Communities Council – $150,000 for 1 year

This grant will provide general operating support for Concerned Citizens Communities Councils and to expand C4’s agricultural, workforce development, and basic-needs services for Mount Pleasant residents. It will also help sustain community events, youth and senior programs, and the essential support offered through C4’s neighborhood resource center.

Enterprise Community Partners – $280,000 for 2 years

This grant will provide general operating support to advance Enterprise Community Partners’ work in expanding homeownership & housing development, oversight and execution of the Cuyahoga Earned Income Tax Coalition Free Tax Preparation Program, and advocacy for affordable housing policy.

Esperanza, Inc. – $200,000 for 2 years

This grant will provide general operating support for Esperanza, Inc., and to expand Esperanza’s efforts that uplift Cleveland’s Hispanic community, ensuring their inclusiveness and civic engagement.

Greater Cleveland Congregations – $150,000 for 18 months and $25,000 for capacity building 

This grant will be used for general operating support to advance Greater Cleveland Congregations’ work in voter awareness, criminal justice reform, health equity, and nonpartisan democracy, while organizing residents to improve the social determinants of health that impact their daily lives.

The Legal Aid Society of Cleveland – $300,000 for 2 years

This grant will be used for general operating support for Legal Aid to prevent evictions and foreclosures, advance lead-safe housing, and strengthen financial stability through debt reduction, wage protection, and access to public benefits.

Neighborhood Leadership Institute – $100,000 for 1 year

This grant will provide general operating support for Neighborhood Leadership Institute’s civic education and leadership development programs, including its 16-week Neighborhood Leadership Cleveland training. It will also support the Community Book Club and a new pilot engagement initiative that brings residents and alumni together to co-design learning opportunities and strengthen grassroots leadership within the Saint Luke’s footprint.

New City Cleveland – $35,000 for 1 year

The grant will be used for general operating support for New City Cleveland to sustain its  community safety activity and youth leadership pipeline through SummerStrong and Winter Workday, and to expand support for mothers through the Mama Strong program.

Providence House – $150,000 for 2 years

This grant will be used for general operating support for Providence House to operate its East Campus Crisis Nursery, deliver trauma-informed family preservation services, and provide community education and prevention programs that help families stabilize and remain safely together.

Towards Employment – $65,000 for 1 years

This grant will be used for general operating support for Towards Employment to prepare residents for in-demand jobs, connect them to employment, and provide the long-term coaching needed for retention and advancement. Funding will help individuals complete career readiness training, support job placement, and expand place-based recruitment efforts in Buckeye, Shaker Square, Mt. Pleasant, and Buckeye-Woodhill.

Case Western Reserve University – $150,000 for 1 years

The Youth Justice Collaborative, led by the Social Justice Law Center (SJLC) at Case Western Reserve University, works to strengthen the youth justice ecosystem in Cuyahoga County by coordinating stakeholders, conducting research, and identifying service gaps affecting young people. Acting as the collaborative coordinator, SJLC facilitates meetings, engages partners, and supports subcommittee work aimed at improving outcomes for at-risk youth.

The Center for Community Solutions – $112,500 for 18 months

This grant will be used for Connecting Community and Public Policy While Continuing their Equity Journey by supporting CCS’s Policy Ambassador program,  and ensuring community perspectives inform policy analysis, applied research, and strategic communications. 

College Now of Greater Cleveland – $100,000 for 1 year

This grant will be used for Investing in Futures: College Access, Debt Relief, and Family Support for the Saint Luke’s Footprint by expanding College Now’s targeted services in the Footprint. Funding will support college affordability workshops, student loan rescue advising, college exposure trips, and enhanced assistance for Say Yes Family Support Specialists to help residents access and complete postsecondary education.

East 66th Street Services dba Neighborhood Connections – $112,500 for 18 months 

This grant will support Neighborhood Connections’ Unify Greater Buckeye: Many Neighborhoods, One Community by strengthening resident-led organizing across Buckeye, Woodhill, and Shaker. The project expands Neighbor Nights, Action Clinics, and door-to-door engagement, deepens collaboration with partners like BBC and NP3, and develops a resident-driven neighborhood safety plan, including administering safety-focused mini-grants.

Work of Art Collective – $50,000 for 1 year 

This grant will support Work of Art Collective’s Beyond the Table: Fueling Cleveland’s Creative Workforce Through Collaboration by advancing an artist-led documentary, exhibition, and soundtrack that explore the local arts ecosystem and introduce a new model for arts-based workforce development. 

Buckeye Healthy Eating Active Living – $54,910 for 1 year and $8,750 for capacity building 

This grant will be used for operating support for HEAL in the Footprint to expand Buckeye HEAL’s resident-led healthy eating and active living programs. Funding will strengthen coordination, train residents as Community Health Workers, and provide stipends for youth and resident leaders who support wellness activities. 

Northeast Ohio Voter Advocates – $30,000 for 1 year and $5,500 for capacity building 

This grant will be used for community organizing in Buckeye, Woodhill, and Shaker Square by supporting NOVA’s nonpartisan efforts to increase voter education, registration, and civic engagement. Funding will enable door-to-door outreach, volunteer recruitment, civic workshops, and partnerships that help residents connect community issues with opportunities for democratic participation.

Passages Connecting Fathers and Sons – $70,000 for 1 year

This grant will be used for Family Resiliency Academy programming to support Passages’ work with parents through parenting education, job readiness training, and individualized case management. The program will recruit and serve parents with high barriers, provide evidence-based relationship and workforce training, and strengthen family engagement and economic stability for participants.

Signal Cleveland – $100,000 for 1 year

This grant will support Signal Cleveland’s community journalism efforts by expanding accessible, equity-driven local news and strengthening civic engagement efforts. This grant will help grow the Youth Documenters program, deepen reporting on housing stability, and increase community-centered coverage that equips residents with clear, actionable information and meaningful pathways to participate in local civic life.
