(June 8, 2024) – Bike Your Neighborhood is a resident-led initiative promoting active living, empowerment, and communal social connections. This summer and fall, we will host a series of community bike rides. Additionally, in partnership with the City Club of Cleveland and the Saint Luke’s Foundation, we will host a film screening and discussion of Bike Vessel. This film tells the story of a father experiencing health complications and using biking as a means to improve his health with his son. Bike Your Neighborhood hosts monthly rides through Buckeye-Shaker, Larchmere, Ludlow, Mt. Pleasant, and Woodland Hills. These rides are designed to be inclusive, catering to individuals of all ages and abilities, from seasoned cyclists to those just discovering the joy of biking. Bike Your Neighborhood was established in 2023 in collaboration with cyclist and community engagement leader Deidre McPherson, as a result of community bike rides programmed and led by the Saint Luke’s Foundation, specifically by members of the Resident Advancement Committee. Recognizing the importance of social connection and bike safety, residents mobilized to create Bike Your Neighborhood.
