Saint Luke’s Foundation Awards $3.3 Million in Fourth Quarter 2023

Cleveland, OH – On December 6th the Board of Trustees of the Saint Luke’s Foundation approved $3,301,400 in grants to 24 organizations during the fourth quarter of the year. These investments advance the Foundation’s mission to achieve health equity by addressing social determinants of health including educational attainment, financial stability, healthy eating and active living, safe and affordable housing, social connections, and the strengthening of the neighborhoods surrounding the former Saint Luke’s hospital.

“Our recent allocation of resources of $3.2 million to 24 hardworking strategy partners, is a testament to our resolute stance towards closing the health equity gap,” remarks Timothy Tramble, Sr., President and CEO of the Foundation. “Our belief holds steadfast that by investing deeper in the social determinants of health, we can support communities that brim with health and resilience.”

Highlights of the Fourth Quarter Grants Awarded to Close the Health Equity Gap:

Neighborhood of Choice – Social-Emotional Wellbeing

  • Burten, Bell, Carr Development, Inc. – (1 years, $133,850) for Purpose Built Communities Quarterback – Season 1
  • City Year – (1 year, $35,000) for Whole School, Whole Child program in Harvey Rice Wraparound
  • A Cultural Exchange – (1 year, $75,000) for general operating support
  • Lake View Cemetery – (1 year, $132,158) for Stokes Memorial Plaza
  • My Brother My Sister Global Inc. – (18 months, $40,000) for My Brother My Sister Global – Buckeye Chapter
  • New Village Corporation – (1 year, $150,000) for Shaker Square Winter Holiday Event and Lighting and Tenants Improvement

Neighborhood of Choice – Commercial Corridors

  • Jordan Community Resource Center – (2 years, $500,000) for the development of the Oasis in the City in Mt. Pleasant

  • Passages Connecting Fathers and Sons, Inc. – (2 years, $140,000) for Family Resiliency Academy Programming
  • Towards Employment – (1 year, $65,000) for general operating support

  • Neighborhood Connections – (1 year, $75,000) for Neighbor Up in Greater Buckeye – 2024
  • Birthing Beautiful Communities – (1 year, $100,000 ) for general operating support

  • Case Western Reserve University’s Social Justice Law Center – (1 year, $95,392) for Youth Justice Collaborative in Cuyahoga County
  • City Club of Cleveland – (1 year, $60,000) for 2024 Health Equity in Action Series
  • Esperanza, Incorporated – (2 years, $240,000) for general operating support
  • Ohio Transformation Fund – (1 year, $60,000) for the Ohio Transformation Fund
  • The Center for Community Solutions – (2 year, $250,000) for Community Impact and Racial Equity Journey
  • Northern Ohioans for Budget Legislation Equality – (2 years, $100,000) for general operating support

Housing Safety and Stability

  • Cuyahoga Metropolitan Housing Authority – (1 years, $200,000) for Cuyahoga Metropolitan Housing Authority – Woodhill Housing Stabilization and CMHAPPD PAR Programs
  • Enterprise Community Partners – (1 years, $140,000) for general operating support
  • Family Promise – (1 year, $50,000) for general operating support
  • The Legal Aid Society of Cleveland – (2 years, $300,000) for general operating support
