City Club and Saint Luke’s Foundation to Host Dr. Brian H. Williams on Healing from Trauma

Event Overview:
As part of our Health Equity series, we are honored to host Dr. Brian H. Williams, a trauma surgeon and author of  The Bodies Keep Coming. Dr. Williams will lead a thought-provoking discussion on healing from trauma, especially for disenfranchised communities affected by violence. Drawing from his book, he will explore the complex connections between white supremacy, gun violence, and the health outcomes of the individuals he treats. His insights are grounded in years of firsthand experience and a commitment to addressing the structural inequities that leave lasting impacts on his patients.

About Dr. Brian H. Williams:
Dr. Williams brings a wealth of experience as a trauma surgeon, professor, Air Force Academy graduate, and Harvard-trained physician. He is also a former congressional health policy advisor and a nationally recognized expert in the areas of public policy, structural racism, gun violence, and health equity. With over two decades of treating victims of gun violence, Dr. Williams is uniquely positioned to offer an impactful perspective on the urgent need for systemic change.
