Saint Luke’s Foundation and Neighborhood Leadership Institute Partner for Policy Change Canvassing in Buckeye-Shaker, Woodland, and Mt. Pleasant Neighborhoods
CLEVELAND, OH — The Saint Luke’s Foundation is proud to announce a new partnership with the Neighborhood Leadership Institute to launch a Lift Every Voice 216 Policy Change canvassing in the Buckeye-Shaker, Woodland, and Mt. Pleasant neighborhoods. This collaborative effort aims to engage residents directly and gather their input on critical policy issues that impact their communities, including community safety, affordable housing, public education, and more.
Through this canvassing tour, the two organizations will actively seek out residents’ voices, encouraging them to participate in the Lift Every Voice 216 Policy Change Survey. This survey allows residents to express their concerns and ideas about the policies that affect their daily lives. Already, preliminary data from the survey highlights the top concerns of residents, with 87% citing community safety as a major policy issue, followed closely by affordable housing at 87% and improving public education (e.g. CMSD) at 88%.
The partnership between Saint Luke’s Foundation and the Neighborhood Leadership Institute reflects a shared commitment to uplifting community voices and creating positive change in Cleveland’s neighborhoods. The canvassing tour will cover all three neighborhoods over the next until November 18th, 2024, with team members and NLI ambassadors knocking on doors, attending community events, and encouraging residents to complete the survey either in person or online.
Why This Survey Matters
Policies around safety, housing, education, and economic opportunities shape the future of communities. By taking part in the Lift Every Voice 216 Policy Change Survey, residents will have the opportunity to directly influence the grantmaking decisions and investments that affect their neighborhoods. This feedback will help the Saint Luke’s Foundation and its partners, like the Neighborhood Leadership Institute, advocate for policy changes that are aligned with the real needs of residents.
