Saint Luke's Foundation Welcomes Indigo Bishop as Program Officer

Nov. 16, 2020 (CLEVELAND) Saint Luke’s foundation announced and welcomed Indigo Bishop as Program Officer. Indigo serves a key role in the foundation’s grantmaking process, which includes research, relationship development, applicant support and decision making.

Bishop comes to Saint Luke’s with experience in non-governmental organizations, higher education, grassroots philanthropy, and affordable housing. Guided by her passion for cross cultural dialogue and creative community building, Indigo is dedicated to designing for and with the next generation, building wealth in black and brown communities, and leveraging existing assets to strengthen our neighborhoods.

Bishop is well known for her ability to facilitate dialogue that generates trust and builds collective action. She has trained hundreds of practitioners across the country, equipping them with integral community building techniques for lasting positive change.

“Driven by our commitment to invest directly in the human capital of the community, we are thrilled to attract the talent of Indigo Bishop,” said Tim Tramble, President and CEO of Saint Luke’s Foundation. “Indigo joins our team as a proven consensus builder and community advocate. Indigo is not only a highly regarded change agent of Cleveland, but she is also a vested resident of the Saint Luke’s footprint. Among Indigo’s many accomplishments, her work on the Woodhill Choice Neighborhood Initiative team has perfect alignment with the commitment of the Foundation to serve as a resource for community transformation.”

Bishop is a certified social justice mediator and a double graduate of Case Western Reserve University where she studied sociology and anthropology, and earned a Master of Social Work at the Mandel School of Applied Social Sciences. She serves on the Boards of Policy Matters Ohio, Cleveland Owns, East End Neighborhood House, and the Asset-Based Community Development Institute at DePaul University.
